Twitter: What do YOU Expect?

Twitter Expectations

Many companies, brands, and people sign up for a Twitter account with the mind set of marketing their product, service, or even themselves in a cost effective way. Social networking sites are great for that, because most are free or very inexpensive and can be very effective.

Within  the past few years Twitter has become an ordinary habit in millions of peoples everyday life which now makes the challenge of standing out even harder. It isn't as simple as just posting a link and having people click on it anymore that strategy is increasingly becoming ineffective.

The idea of numbers is no longer as valuable as it once was. Just because you can have a million plus followers, tons of tweets per week, your  return traffic can still be and will likely be low. The current average trend is that the more followers you have the less your Twitter marketing click through rate will be. For example someone with 1,000 followers has a click through rate of 6.16% as opposed to someone with 10,000 followers has just a 0.45% click through rate.  This is likely due to the fact that you become less personally interactive with your followers once you reach a certain follower point.

So the question arises how do you create a mass number of followers for product and brand awareness without losing that personal interaction?

Second Chance Solutions creates a strategy for your company, brand, product, and services which allows you to remain proactive, and engaging with your Twitter feed. It takes a lot of  research and a lot of work to get measurable results down to they day you decide to tweet which is another piece that plays a role in effectiveness your account will have. Each company, brand, service, and their goals are different and will have a different approach but as an overall outline here is what you can expect from our Marketing Strategies.

We began with research once we have figured out your objectives and who your audience is we began to create lists for both private and public viewing. You can monitor your competitors with private lists while impressing your consumers with public lists. You can receive that personal connection by alerting the followers they have been added to a list, or you can share that list to attract more followers.

We then began to tweet, retweet, and favorite tweets effectively and ensure the content is appropriate. The days and times are strategically picked to ensure full engagement with our target markets because tweeting on a Saturday between the hours of 8am and 6pm could have twice as many clicks as opposed to a tweet on a Friday between 12pm and 6am.

Lastly we monitor Twitter analytics which is a feature to measure engagement within Twitter itself by signing up for Twitter ads to gain this access. This access allows you to view the engagement of each of your tweets, see how many impressions they have had, information on the number of favorites, expands, replies, and retweets, the best type of tweets to send, and the best wording to use.

It is easy to get caught up in 'using' Twitter without actually benefiting from Twitter. Our job is to ensure you don't forget about the basics and that your account is accessing itself to its full abilities.

  1. To tweet or not to tweet...that is the question! Great post! I find it interesting that something as "common" as using Twitter can become an effective marketing tool. This provides support for using marketing experts to advise for a business marketing strategy.
